"Jen; I've just arrived St. Malo, a walled fortress town on the the north coast of Bretagne - severe, giant buildings on a wintery northern sea. For France, it's rather English. This is my second day in France and I'm really enjoying the jet lag. I understand almost none of the language but I'm getting along. It's a bit lonely but I'm hoping to make this into a voyage of self-discovery. Tomorrow I start painting. Hope this finds you well. Bisoux, Tony"

Diptych, 2006
This is the last work Tony painted. At the time of his illness, he was considering teaching a Plein Air painting class. He was thinking about how to teach, and created this study.
